YODC Enrichment Programme
The Young Onset Dementia Collective’s Enrichment Programme is designed to do exactly what the name suggests — enrich the everyday lives of people living with younger onset dementia in ways that are meaningful, age-appropriate, and deeply human.
Enrichment, in this context, is not about keeping people “occupied.” It’s about creating opportunities for connection, purpose, stimulation, and joy — the things that continue to matter just as much after a diagnosis as they did before.

For people living with younger onset dementia, life is often disrupted at a stage where they are still active, capable, and wanting to contribute. Enrichment means recognising that reality and responding to it.
Through a range of varied activities — social, practical, creative, and community-based — the programme focuses on supporting cognitive engagement, maintaining identity, building confidence, and fostering a genuine sense of belonging. It’s about enabling people to do, not just be; to participate, not withdraw; and to continue experiencing achievement, connection, and purpose in ways that reflect who they are.
At its heart, the Enrichment Programme is a simple but powerful idea: life doesn’t stop with a diagnosis — and neither should opportunity.
