YODC Impact Collective

Purpose, Dignity and teamwork in action

The Young Onset Dementia Collective (YODC) Volunteers group is built on the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to contribute, connect, and feel valued—regardless of diagnosis.

What began through partnerships like our work alongside Fair Food has grown into an award-winning initiative, recognised for both its impact and innovation. The group has proven not only its success, but its popularity—consistently drawing strong interest from participants, whanau, and supporters who see the difference it makes.

Bringing people together through meaningful, hands-on activities, our volunteers foster teamwork, purpose, and a genuine sense of belonging. Whether preparing, sorting, creating, or supporting others, each contribution—big or small—plays a part in something larger. Our approach is flexible, inclusive, and people-first, ensuring every experience is supportive, social, and grounded in dignity—where confidence grows, connections deepen, and everyone leaves knowing they’ve made a real and valued contribution.
